In this beginning reading class, the hunt is on! As your child engages in a series of learning activities focusing on short vowel words, they will also be embarking on a treasure hunt to find the missing gems and unlock a surprise.
Class experience
This class is perfect for a child that knows the majority of their letter sounds, and is just starting to practice blending sounds together to make words. It is also great for children that have been blending words for a while, but struggle with guessing what the word is, instead of reading completely through the word. We will start class by focusing on activities that blend just two sounds together. We will then progress to activities where we will practice blending three letter, CVC words....
Increase reading fluency and accuracy of CVC words.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Your child is the one taking this class. However, some assistance may be necessary from time to time.
