Are you looking to help your emerging reader gain skills? This class incorporates sight words and word families to allow your child to read whole sentences by the end of ONE class! Learning must be engaging to be effective, and students will use movement, music, and games to learn sight words before we practice the sentences. CLASS STRUCTURE: Students will work on reading 3-5 sight words each lesson. Example: had, his, with, him Then, students will be introduced to a word...
Students will gain recognition and automaticity with 4-6 sight words and a word family. They will recognize these words in isolation and in a sentence. Students will also practice reading fluency, focusing on expression and accuracy.
I encourage students to practice the sentences and paragraphs after class with their family.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
