In this ongoing class, we will be drawing various animals and objects. Students will follow the Teacher Lauren's steps to draw the picture!

This is a beginner level drawing class. The drawing that we will do each week uses lines, circles and basic shapes that will be age appropriate for our young learners. The sessions will not build on previous class. Each week the topics drawings will change. Ms. Lauren will model step-by-step on how to draw the drawing of the week for students. Each week our drawing could either be an object or an animal. Even though Ms. Lauren is giving students step-by-step drawing instructions she encourages students that this is their piece of art and it's ok if it looks a little different from hers. Some students can get very frustrated when drawing so it is important to remember that our art can all be different and amazing because it's our OURS! Due to this class being a drawing class Ms. Lauren waits two minutes after class starts to begin the drawing. Please try to be on time. If time allows she may beable to go over what the late student missed when we start to color. Most of the time we will start on the coloring in class however students may need to finish some coloring after class.. Some students so not want to color their drawing and that's ok. The last 3 minutes Ms. Lauren will encourage learners to tell us about their drawing. Students will never be forced to share. Hello, Parents! My name is Teacher Lauren. It's so nice to meet you! Let me tell you a little bit about myself!
With over 18 years of teaching experience I am so very excited to start an exciting adventure with your child. I grew up in a small shrimping community in Louisiana. I have a Associates degree in science in early childhood education. I have experience working with children both in a preschool setting and 3rd-5th grade in a classroom setting. I now have 2 years of experience teaching online in a virtual classroom.
I alter my teaching style to meet the needs of the student(s). I strive to engage children through games and hands on activities. I have created a flexible curriculum that can be altered to better suit my students. In my classes, your learner will be having so much fun that they will not even realize they are learning! I encourage a lot of engagement and participation between myself and the learners as well as learner to learner.
When I am not teaching I am with my family. I am married and have 3 teenaged children. We also have 2 fur babies named Nunya and Kajun. As a family we enjoy Friday night high school football games, or after the season ends you can find us having family game night. I also enjoy going to the beach, and disney.
