Intermediate - Advanced Level
Curriculum: These are drawing lessons with a scientific flare. In the beginning of the lesson, students will learn some animal facts followed by a detailed drawing lesson. In addition to being an artist, I'm a very big animal nerd and have worked as a wildlife docent. This is definitely a passion project of mine. I'll send photo references for drawing prior to the lesson and provide step-by-step instructions on drawing each animal. Each class will be welcoming and beginner friendly, but there will also be opportunities for advanced students to challenge themselves. I will encourage students to add more details - how can we draw fur without just making a messy clump of lines? How can we show where the light hits the subject matter, or where the darkest shadows are? How can we show that an axolotl looks wet and glossy, vs a fox who has light soft fluffy fur?
Learning Goals
