It is sometimes hard for young gifted/advanced learners to make friends with peers their same age. They tend to gravitate toward older kids or adults. I have a Master's Degree in Gifted Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I taught gifted students for over 16 years, in self-contained classrooms. I taught first and second graders with a pull-out for Kindergarten, then second and third, just third, and also a third-fourth combination. My husband and I have raised two identified gifted kids of our own.
