This is an ongoing D&D 5E class where we'll explore the Humblewood campaign setting. Characters can hop in and out of the adventure as needed, making it perfect for flexible participation. We will build this adventure together, with the DM guiding us through the story. You will play as woodland creatures, battling fierce enemies, solving mysteries, role-playing with your fellow adventurers, casting spells, and working together to save Humblewood from the devastating fires ravaging the land. By completing quests, you will earn XP and level up your characters! *This is a learner led adventure* In Humblewood, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the mystical world of Everden, a land filled with magic and mystery. Our story takes place in the once-peaceful Humblewood, now threatened by flames and conflict. As either birdfolk or humblefolk, your character will join the fight to protect the Wood from destruction and restore balance to the realm. You can bring your character, we can provide a pre-made one, or you can adjust a character to suit your preferences during the class. The Campaign: The adventure will be highly learner-driven, and together, we’ll decide which paths to take and how to navigate the different realms in Everden. The campaign will focus on teamwork and collaborative storytelling. D&D Benefits for Neurodivergent Learners: Dungeons & Dragons has been shown to be particularly effective in fostering social and emotional learning, especially for neurodivergent students or those on an IEP or 504 plan. Through patience, positive reinforcement, and engaging gameplay, D&D helps students improve communication skills, practice empathy, and work through complex emotions in a safe, supportive environment. The game allows players to escape from real-world stress and offers them opportunities to build real friendships in a judgment-free community. Classroom Rules: By signing up for this D&D campaign, you agree to the rules below. Rule violations may result in time in the waiting room to review the rules. These rules are in addition to all Outschool guidelines. Mission Statement: This is a cooperative RPG where success is determined by the group's effort, not just individual accomplishments. Be respectful to your fellow party members. Don’t argue with the DM. Accept the outcome if your character dies. Avoid intentionally harming other party members. Keep character actions appropriate for your age group. Do not steal from other party members. Try to resurrect fallen party members when possible. Listen to each other. Don’t lie about your dice rolls. Be friendly and, most importantly, have fun!
