In one single session, we'll explore a big question together: what is a human anyway? By looking at our evolutionary journey, our close hominin cousins and anthropology, we'll look at three key features of Homo Sapiens that make them so different (and quite similar!) from other critters. Students will improve their skills in literacy, oracy and evaluating information. The discussions will develop their ability to express their opinions, using facts to justify their views. They will also expand their knowledge of human evolution, human anatomy and key concepts in anthropology/archaeology.
I am a qualified archaeologist with an undergraduate degree in Archaeology and Masters degree in Bioarchaeology. I am also lucky enough to be an experienced, fully qualified Secondary Science teacher in the UK.
