Did you know that if you stretched out your small intestine, it would be as tall as a giraffe? Or that the acid in your stomach is strong enough to dissolve metal? Join me on an interactive journey through the amazing digestive system to find out what happens inside our bodies every time we eat! In this class, we will learn the basic anatomy, sequence, and functions of the digestive organs. The organs discussed will be: Mouth and teeth Esophagus Stomach Small intestine Large intestine Rectum Accessory digestive organs: (liver, gallbladder, and pancreas). Images and props will be used to enhance the understanding of the digestion process. We will end class with a game to review the concepts learned. My teaching style involves asking questions to get the learners thinking before providing them with facts and answers. For this reason, I like to keep my class sizes small. I use repetition and review throughout the class to check for understanding and to increase information retention. Discussion-based learning is what I strive for in each class. After class is over, learners will receive printable worksheets to reinforce the concepts learned in class. No prior knowledge or experience is needed to take this course. Note: I do not cancel any of my classes for low enrollment. This class is fun even with just 1 learner! If your child does not feel comfortable being the only learner in class, please send me a message. 🙂

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Science from Weber State University
I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2012. Human anatomy and physiology were the core focusses of my science credits. I had the unique opportunity to study anatomy and physiology in the Weber State University human cadaver lab. The many hours spent here gave me an in-depth perspective of the human body and what happens inside it.
As a Certified Online ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher, I have taught about 800 online English classes to students ages 3-14. I have experience in making online classes successful and engaging.
