Description

Class Experience

This ongoing introduction-level class runs like a semester class, but with the flexibility and convenience of an ongoing subscription based class.  Topics are on a rotating schedule.  Each class is independent of others. No experience in anatomy or science needed.  Learners are welcome to jump in at any time!

We will explore the basic foundations of human anatomy and physiology system by system.  This one-on-one/private tutoring format allows for individual learners to go at their own...

Classes on the reproductive system will focus on the anatomy (parts) and physiology (function), rather than topics on sexuality, gender issues and sexual health.  All material presented is factual and science-based.

An optional study guide can be downloaded or printed out before class to help the learner follow along in lecture.  Study guides can be completed during class time.

Materials needed for lecture:
An optional study guide will be provided at least 24 hours before each class.  Study guides can be downloaded or printed for learners to follow along during class. 

Materials needed for lab:
Labeling materials (masking tape or post-its) for body regions, skeletal and muscular system topics
4 cups or bowls, labels, blue & red paper for heart circulation demo
Balloon or produce bag, ruler for lung volume lab

Weekly grades are available.  Certificates of completion will be granted upon submission of a complete study guide.

Some classes may showcase clinical cases and short videos that may depict surgeries, wounds and/or blood that can be graphic in nature.  

The respiratory lab uses plastic bags to measure lung volumes.  This may pose a choking hazard.

Classes on the reproductive system include sensitive topics and images that include, but are not limited to, the anatomy of external genitalia, physiology of erections, menstrual cycles and childbirth.
