n this 12 week FLEX class, students will cover the second half of the text. Students will be provided with weekly chapter comprehension questions, online activities, a selection of videos, one thought question and peer responses.

Class Experience

Students will learn to view history from multiple perspectives. They will also learn to think critically about the stories that have been told, who tells them, and if there may be another side to the stories. Students will be encouraged to question and look towards primary sources to answer such questions.
I am a licensed k-12 teacher. I have taught Civics for a number of years within the public school system. I have taught this same text for the last year within two home school communities.  I currently teach this same class as a live version here on Outschool. 
A set of weekly comprehension questions that go along with the reading selection. Students will also be given access to a number of variety activities to compliment the learning. These activities may include completing a timeline, fill-in-the blank questions, etc.
Students should obtain a copy of the text or audio file for A Young People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn
Students are assessed by their interactions on the thought questions, completion of the comprehension questions, and additional assigned homework activities
