Class Experience

Students will learn about Egyptian Hieroglyphics each week in class. Students do not need to have a knowledge of Hieroglyphics as I will be teaching the class as you are a beginner learner.

Once a week we will discuss/ learn how to draw Egyptian Hieroglyphics There is no background of history required for this class. We will be learning from step 1 about Egyptian Hieroglyphics. Homework is assigned, where every week the students will be asked to draw some hieroglyphics.
I will evaluate each drawing to make sure that the students understand what they are learning in class time.

We have fun assignments in each of the first 3 classes if you would like to do them;)

In this class we will be drawing Hieroglyphics. Depending on your student's artistic abilty we may be starting with basic Hieroglyphics or more advanced ones, which have much more details.

Week 1: Introductions along with basics of how to write hieroglyphics. This first session we will discuss the basics of Hieroglyphic writing.
Week 2: Monalaterals and Bilaterals. We will be writing several words from each section.(The number depends on how fast students write the words, but maybe 3-4 each or more)
Week 3: Trilaterals, Determinative, and phonetic. We will take a few words from each. (The number depends on how fast students write the words, but maybe 3-4 each or more)
Week 4: Sentences, names, and a short paragraph. We will be writing about 2-3 sentences that I will choose. We will all write our first and last names, but you do not share your last name, of course. (The number depends on how fast students write the words, but maybe 3-4 each or more)

Learning Goals

Students will learn about Egypt Hieroglyphics and how to write them/ draw them.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am perfect for teaching this class as I have loved Egyptian mythology as a young child and would love to share some of my knowledge with others. I try to tailor all my classes and teaching to fit each student when they are in my classes. We have discussion times in class also.I am a very patient teacher and love to have questions.
