How to: Write an A+ Thesis & Essay (NEW Class)

Students will learn how to write a strong thesis statement and structure a clear, well-organized five-paragraph essay. They’ll develop skills in brainstorming, outlining, writing, and revising, helping them feel confident in academic writing.

Topics covered:

-Understanding what a thesis statement is and how to write one
-How to structure a five-paragraph essay (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion)
-Organizing ideas with outlines and graphic organizers
-Writing strong topic sentences and supporting details
-How to write a compelling introduction and conclusion
-Strategies for editing and revising


Each lesson follows a step-by-step approach with a mix of instruction, examples, guided practice, and interactive activities. Students will apply what they learn in each class, building their essay-writing skills gradually. I use a combination of slides, discussions, writing exercises, and interactive tools to keep lessons engaging and easy to follow. Students will have opportunities to practice writing in class and receive feedback. I create a supportive and encouraging environment, breaking down writing into simple, manageable steps.
