How to Write a Thesis Statement- A Fun Introduction to Essay Writing

Have you ever had writer's block and wondered how to write a strong thesis statement and essay?  Does your learner like food, sports, animals, pets, or vacations? Come join me in this engaging and fun thesis statement writing class. A thesis statement is the single most important part of writing a strong essay. In this class, I will introduce learners to a basic five paragraph essay format, focusing on writing an introductory paragraph and strong theses statement. Students will learn the five essay parts, including the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion.  Students will brainstorm fun student -friendly topics to form opinions on and create a strong thesis statement.  Students will then be given sentence starters to help them write. Each student will be given individual attention and the opportunity to write their own introduction and thesis.  Students are encouraged to bring a snack, drink, and favorite family photo or pet that will help motivate them. 

To teach this class, I will model how to write a thesis, as well as providing exemplars for students to view and discuss.  My teaching style is engaging and fun, with a focus on student engagement.  Learners will be able interact with one another students throughout the entire class while getting individual attention from me.  I will use Google Slides to teach this class.
