In this 45 minute class, students will learn to write a friendly letter (a letter to a close friend or family member) utilizing correct format, creating engaging content. We will also learn to properly address an envelope.

In this 45 minute class, we will bring back the long-lost custom of letter writing by learning to write a friendly letter. I will be teaching this class with lecture and modeling at first. Students will take notes concerning the format (five parts) of a friendly letter. They will also learn to address an envelope, taking notes on this as well. Students will learn to properly write a friendly letter and address an envelope.
I have taught creative letter writing to students in this age group for 14 years.
Students will be writing a friendly letter that parents will be able to read upon completion of class, with the possibility of sending it on to the person to whom it is addressed.
Students will need: paper pencil or pen crayons or markers an envelope or 2 would be nice, but not necessary
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
There are no additional sources for this class. Students will be encouraged to write uplifting content in their friendly letters.
