In this one-time class, students will learn how to use a dictionary from the parts of a dictionary to alphabetical order to identifying the parts of a dictionary entry.

Class experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Students will learn how to use glossaries or beginning dictionaries, both print and digital, to determine or clarify the precise meaning of key words and phrases. (CCSS L.3.4d)
Learners will consult reference materials (e.g., dictionaries, glossaries, thesauruses), both print and digital, to find the pronunciation and determine or clarify the precise meaning of key words and phrases. (CCSS L.4.4c and L.5.4c)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
