Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the basics of dog training and be able to, with time and consistent practice, teach their dog just about anything.
Students will be given practice assignments to do with their dogs each week. I expect each student to work with their dogs at least once a day every day while enrolled in my course. I hope that they will provide feedback once a week on their dog; whether that be a video clip or a "journal" message describing what they did, how they did it, and the result it produced with their dog. If students can't complete this outside of class, I will ask them in class about their practice sessions! Print outs provided for lessons that need them.
One page assignments will be provided each week Dog or puppy Leash Collar Clicker Treat bag Treats Toys Note: students without dogs are more than welcome to take the class to learn before they bring home a dog or puppy!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Progress is assessed by gathering the needs/goals of the students, giving them help to teach that goal, and them reporting it has been reached by providing a video or written journal detailing their accomplishment or telling the class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
