Students will be taught strategies on how to study "smarter" so they can get actually remember what is taught in class. The topics I will cover include: 4 techniques or strategies that are very effective when studying 4 common behaviors that are ineffective when studying An extremely powerful AND effective way to recall or remember "technical facts" that they will never forget My class will be very interactive in nature. The class will start out as a lecture but I like to break up the lecture by sharing visuals like video clips and asking the students questions to ensure they are engaged. The class will also include a very engaging activity. This activities will give the students an opportunity to reflect on their current method for remembering or recalling facts (the most common technique is through repetition) and how ineffective it is. I will then show students the BEST way to study to make the facts that they are learning meaningful to them. This activity is designed to keep students excited about learning and is designed to motivate them to study. I will teach by sharing slides, lecturing, asking questions, and providing visuals. My teaching style is to make sure the students are engaged, feel supported and safe, and inspired. I am very understanding and patient and try to adapt to each student's needs as best as I can. Learners will interact with me throughout the class. I make an effort to engage each and every student and try to ensure everyone has had an opportunity to participate. I do this by prompting discussion through questions, activities, video clips and slides. No prior experience or knowledge is needed.
