Class Experience
Are you concerned about your child's social media use? With so many platforms available, it can be overwhelming to navigate what is safe and appropriate for your learner. In this class, your learner will learn how to use social media safely and responsibly, discussing the potential dangers and benefits of social media sharing. They will also learn strategies for maintaining a positive digital footprint. At the end of class, students will participate in an interactive Kahoot! challenge to...
I lead several gaming groups focused on online conflict, and appropriate online social interaction, and even teach a class centered around cyberbullying in video games titled "Kind is Cool." As a prior behavioral therapist, and current speech therapist, I teach appropriate sharing techniques to children of all abilities.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class explores social media positives and negatives. We will discuss who we interact with online and potential negative outcomes, such as cyberbullying. Please note the ages required to use different social media networks (many are 13+) and monitor your child's use accordingly.
