Description
Class Experience
Students will understand the process, materials, tools, and safety measures that are required when making stained glass art.
No homework
Safety equipment is necessary if you choose to participate and practice along- this includes: safety goggles, cutting gloves, and a face mask. It is not necessary, but students may practice along with the following tools and materials: a sheet of glass (clear glass is the cheapest and easiest to learn with - you can even use picture frame glass), copper foil tape, a glass cutter, and breaking pliers. Additional optional tools include flux, 60/40 solder, & soldering iron.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No assessment
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Making stained glass art is inherently dangerous due to the exposure to fractured glass, lead, and hot tools. I will overview safety, but please understand the risks before attempting this art on your own.
