Description
Class Experience
Students who have already used a sewing machine to create straight lines will learn more sewing skills, such as creating clean edges with the concept of "rights sides together". Simple appliqué will teach students how to control fabric. Students will learn how to pivot fabric, as the pattern has curved edges.
I will provide the tools for the learner to be able to replicate and adapt this project by themselves after the course.
In order to participate in the class each student will need: -One (1) fat quarter of cotton fabric, or approximately 1/4 yard of fabric -A very small amount of felt- I recommend two felt sheets-one black, and one that matches the selected fabric https://www.joann.com/kunin-premium-felt-9x12-single-sheets/zprd_16811226a.html -material to stuff the stuffed animal- polyfil, fabric scraps, etc. https://www.joann.com/fairfield-processing-poly-fil-premium-polyester-fiberfill-12-oz/8210858.html -A sewing machine, thread, pins, scissors (basic sewing supplies) -I will supply the printable pattern The fabric quarter, felt, and bag of polyfil usually will cost less than $10 at Joanns fabric, depending on sales and coupons. A felt sheet and polyfil can be used for multiple projects after. The fabric quarter will be able to make about 3 of these stuffed animals, however, I recommend this amount for the class in case of mistakes.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
