This is a 2-part workshop that came about to seek to fill a need for those students/families navigating the arduous NCAA eligibility process, especially for homeschooled student athletes. At some public institutions, there are counselors that may be knowledgeable and can help guide future student athletes, but for the homeschool community, they may not have access to this resource and as a result, this can be a confusing process. I hope to use this working workshop to help explain the process, procedures and answer questions along the way. The format of this workshop is 2-part and about an hour long each, with about 45-50 minutes of presentation/demonstration time and I will answer some questions on topics that haven't been discussed at the end. Workshop Objectives: Part 1: *Briefly verse students on what the NCAA is and their role in collegiate athletics *Discuss NCAA GPA, Core courses and "sliding scale" qualifications *Complete timeline from beginning the NCAA process to receiving final amateurism qualification *Explain the various eligibility differences between Division 1-Division 3 athletic qualification Part 2: *Discuss things specific to homeschooled student athletes(CCW's, SAT/ACT testing, transcripts, etc) *Specifics for dual enrolled/CLEP credit/AP and the NCAA eligibility process *I will show and dissect the back-end of an actual NCAA account to see what it should look like in stages and completed

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been the Academic Coordinator at an elite sports academy for the past 5 years, helping hundreds of domestic and international high school students that are aspiring collegiate athletes to navigate to NCAA eligibility process and go on to play their sport in college. As the liaison between student/parent and the NCAA, and having a child to just recently complete this process for a major D1 university, I have gained quite a bit of knowledge and experience in this realm. What I learned is that for the homeschooling community, there are specific requirements and there is a need to disseminate this information to home schooled student athletes also and as early as possible on what the policies and procedures are and how to successfully complete the NCAA eligibility process.
