Description
Class Experience
In this one-time class, students will learn how to plan a vacation. We will discuss what to consider when choosing a location, booking a hotel, planning activities, and budgeting for a vacation. We’ll also talk about how to stay safe and how to handle common problems that travelers deal with, such as what to do if you miss a flight or get lost. This class is taught with Canva Presentation slides, video clips, images, lecture, and discussion. My teaching style is student-centric and...
I’m an experienced traveler. I also spent 4 years living overseas in Japan, South Korea, and China. I have traveled to Australia, Germany, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Scotland, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, and England. I have also traveled to many different places in my home country of the United States, including New York, Washington DC, Texas, and the Grand Canyon. I would love to share what I have learned about planning a vacation with students.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
While talking about planning a trip, we’ll talk about safety. The topic of avoiding theft and violence will be addressed. I won’t go into graphic detail. I believe it is best to give students enough information to empower them to protect themselves without scaring them unnecessarily. Contact me with any specific concerns or questions you have about this. Some students are more sensitive than others and I’m happy to adjust the way topics are addressed to meet the needs of all students.
