Description
Class Experience
-How to mix colors used to paint skin tones -How to layer colors to give skin form (to make it look realistic rather than flat) -The difference in painting skin with oil vs acrylic paints
I have been painting for about two years now after initially studying art using colored pencils, pen, and charcoal for three previous years. I painted the faces I am holding in the cover photo!
If students plan to paint along with my demonstration, they’ll need the following: For acrylic painters: -Acrylic paintbrushes -Pthalo Blue, yellow, red, white, black, and Sienna Brown/Burnt Sienna acrylic paints -Water -Napkin -Canvas or thick paper -Optional pencil for notes and labeling For oil painters: -Ultramarine, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red, White, Black, and Burnt Umber oil paints (or similar colors) -Paint thinner of choice (preferably in two containers, one for cleaning and one for thinning paint) -Napkin -Canvas -Optional pencil for notes and labeling
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
