To learn the breathing techniques of the saxophone, mini-saxophone, and the clarinet Have fun! Learn a skill that could bring in some extra income!
Your teacher, me, well, I learned how to play the mini-saxophone while I was doing my Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning Development at OISE | the University of Toronto which is a high-ranking educational school in the world, as well as North America. I chose to purchase a mini-saxophone due to its affordability, rather than a full saxophone, and I love the mini-saxophone because it has a sound similar to a saxophone and a clarinet. There are many people who own saxophones and clarinets, that also own a mini-saxophone. I love the curved nature of the mini-saxophone and was also falling in love again with jazz, blues, and some classical music, plus modern music where I could hear the mini-saxophone player. If you would want to get a really expensive saxophone, clarinet, or mini-saxophone that would create little to no issues for you in order to maintain, it is recommended that you purchase an expensive one used. You can clean it out thoroughly before using it with a good alkaline type liquid soap (please, only liquid) such as Dr. Bronner's liquid soaps which I use personally from head to toes. It works on instruments and even with cleaning as well. You do need to dilute it depending on what you are using it for. I have now purchased a full saxophone and the mini-saxophone helped me to play the full saxophone well. I spent months teaching a child how to play the saxophone here on Outschool and have been fully immersed with the saxophone since my Ph.D. experience which was close to 10 years ago.
No homework
A computer, laptop, iPad, tablet, or smartphone to access the Outschool and Zoom classrooms. You can purchase a good student saxophone for about $300, you can purchase a good mini-saxophone for under $100, and you can purchase a good student clarinet for just over $100.
