Class Experience

In this one-time class learners will come out with having created their very own Flip Flop Friendship Bracelet, which can be a fun gift for family and friends. At the beginning of class I will ask a couple ice-breaker questions so that we can all get to know each other a little bit. Then we will start creating our bracelet. We will start out by putting our strings in order, taping them down, and learning the forward knot to create our bracelet. I will be making a bracelet right along with the students using my Doc Cam so that the students will be able to see the process. We'll go through the process step-by-step, and I'll answer questions as we go. Everyone will then have time to work on their friendship bracelet while chatting. At the end, whether students are done with their friendship bracelets or not, I will show them how to finish their bracelet so they can tie it on their wrist or make it adjustable. This might be a part of the recording the learners will need to come back and watch once they finish their bracelets after class. It will be a lot of fun!

Hello everyone! I am a former elementary teacher, teaching 5th grade for 2 years and 1st grade for five. I enjoy teaching children about reading and math through games, hands-on learning, and engaging activities. Airplanes, bracelet-making, and social clubs are some of the other topics I am passionate about teaching. Through my time in the classroom, I know that in order for kids to learn, they need to be engaged and having fun! This is why I bring games and activities to all of my classes, so that we can really enjoy our time together.

I still currently hold a K-6 Elementary Teaching License. I loved my time teaching in the classroom but just recently decided it was time for me to stay home with my own two children (ages 3 and 1.5). We are excited for all the adventures we are going to have together as a family, especially going to the zoo to see my favorite animal - giraffes!
