50 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
All general announcements, including any materials needed for the upcoming week will be posted on the Outschool classroom messaging board no later than Sunday morning. All I ask for homework is that your student comes prepared with all necessary materials and is ready to learn.Assessment
We will play different games and have trivia sessions that will allow me to assess your students knowledge in a fun and interactive manner. These activities may use features like annotation in order to encourage your student to circle examples of any elements or principles of design being taught while other times they may be asked to use their reaction buttons to answer questions that are in a multiple choice format.Class Experience
Beginner Level
Welcome to our summer scholars art camp where your student will learn the basic elements and principles of design and all the basic tools an artist needs to become a successful creator. This summer camp is perfect for artists looking to expand their skills and is a wonderful option for homeschool families looking to integrate math, history and the arts too. We will use interactive games to test our knowledge, watch fun educational videos and practice the new skills we learn under the guidance of a certified art educator. Together we will meet twice a week. Day one will be reserved specifically for expanding our educational knowledge through game time and interactive discussions while day two will be reserved specifically for art and games. All students are welcome to join us at the beginning of each new week. ---THE BASIC BUILDING BLOCKS OF ART---- 6/4/23-6/10/23 "HOW TO PAINT WITH SHAPES LIKE HENRI MATISSE" 6/11/23-6/17/23 "HOW TO DRAW CASTLES LIKE PAUL KLEE USING LINES" 6/18/23-6/24/23 "HOW TO DRAW ZENTANGLE LANDSCAPES LIKE KARLA GERARD" 6/25/23-6/30/23 "HOW TO DRAW MAGICAL MANDALAS USING SYMMETRY" **THE LAST LESSON FOR THIS MONTH WILL EXTEND INTO 7/1/23*** --THE STUDY OF OUR WORLD THROUGH ART--- 7/2/23-7/8/23 "HOW TO DRAW YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD USING ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE 7/9/23-7/15/23 "HOW TO DRAW YOUR FAVORITE FLOWERS LIKE GEORGIA O'KEEFE" 7/16/23-7/22/23 "HOW TO DRAW OUR FAVORITE DESSERTS LIKE WAYNE THIEBAUD" 7/23/23-7/29/23 "HOW TO MAKE OUR FAVORITE FOODS LIKE PAUL CEZANNE" ---HOW TO CREATE MAGIC WITH ART--- 7/30/23-8/5/23 "HOW TO MAKE OUR FAVORITE ICONS GLOW LIKE ANDY WARHOL" 8/6/23-8/12/23 "HOW TO DRAW OPTICAL ILLUSIONS LIKE VICTOR VASARELY" 8/13/23-8/19/23 "HOW TO CREATE COLOR MIXING WITH THE EYE LIKE PAUL SIGNAC" 8/20/23-8/26/23
