Class Experience
We will learn how to make an "inside" bow hold for the violin or viola. No prior knowledge is needed for this class. - We will learn how to make an "inside" bow hold for the violin or viola. No prior knowledge is needed for this class. This is the type of bow hold used by professionals, as opposed to the "outside" beginning bow hold that is often used for very young students (usually ages 7 and under), who are still developing finger control and dexterity. We will practice bow holds together by learning in steps. We will also have a list of things to check in our bow hold. I will have all of the students do at least five bow holds during class, but probably more will be done.

Homework
Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: After the class, keep practicing the bow holds in order to solidify what you have learned. It is recommended that students do 8-10 bow holds per day, breaking it up into 2-5 bow holds at a time during the day so as to not get overwhelmed. There is no other homework besides that. This class can be repeated many times as needed.Assessment

violin or viola bow; or a rectangular eraser duct-taped to a pencil/dowel rod with approximately half an inch of the pencil/rod sticking out past the end of the eraser.
There is no danger in this class, but it is helpful for the learner to have a parent or guardian listening off-camera in order to accurately repeat the bow hold after the class. Watching the class recording several times while practicing the bow hold is also recommended.
