Students will review and practice how to identify the theme in a piece of literature. The skill of analysis will be utilized throughout the lesson to help uncover universal lessons that are woven into literature.

Printed out copies of the following materials: - Notetaking worksheet - Theme statement worksheet - A short story (to be read before class begins)
Progress will be assessed through participation.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
