In this course, learners will find out what is needed to legally fly a drone in the US. We will discuss federal requirements for Unmanned Aviation (flying any size/price drone) including: Registration, Certifications and Airspace Knowledge.
Class experience
Learn how to Legally Fly a Drone! (Ages 13-18) During this class, students will learn how to fly an unmanned drone safely and legally. We will cover what kind of drones need to be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and how to register them. We will also cover what permits and/or licenses are required to legally fly a drone in the US. We will present airspace regulations and how the students can get permission to fly foe free almost anywhere in their hometown. Students...
Students will learn how to determine if an area is safe to fly and how to attain permission if it is restricted. Students will have all the information required at the end of the class to legally fly their drone almost anywhere! Students will know the following: -How to complete their own drone Registration -How to get certified to legally fly their drone -How to determine if the area they want to fly in is safe and eligible for drone flight
I am a licensed Commercial FAA Remote Pilot and fly full time for my job. I typically fly between 500-600 missions a year.

Age requirement (13+) is due to Federal Aviation Administration age requirement for being able to register and get certified to fly a drone in the United States.
We will refer to the Federal Aviation Administration website multiple times (https://faadronezone-access.faa.gov/#/) and also refer the students to a website where they can take the TRUST certification test for free (https://trust.pilotinstitute.com/)
