US Grade 7 - 9
This asynchronous course will help your self-directed learner build a solid foundation for Algebra 1. Ideal to take up to 2 years before entering algebra 1. 6️⃣ Weeks, and each week includes: -PDF notes/curriculum (printing encouraged) -1 pre-recorded video lesson -1 homework assignment (through Google Forms) -1 VIDEO answer key for the homework Teacher Style/Philosophy: Each learner is on their own math journey and unique in the way they learn. My goals are to teach to the students' needs and encourage students while they learn these core concepts. Beyond the math, the goal is to work alongside caregivers to prepare their learner(s) for the future. This is accomplished through setting class expectations, ensuring students feel seen and heard, giving encouragement, and normalizing mistakes. Mistakes will be made, and that is okay! It is an eye-opening part of the learning process. Mastering the core pre-algebra math concepts is half of the goal of this course, the other half of the goal is to help students get more comfortable with facing and overcoming challenges, thus gaining confidence. The biggest battle we all face with overcoming challenges is the six inches between our ears. I'm looking forward to being a part of your learner growing in their math journey! This course will require consistent work, but you will reap the reward for the effort you give!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Mathematics
The courses I offer center around core math topics in pre-algebra and algebra. I like to focus on the important building blocks students need to master in middle school and early high school in order to succeed in high school and beyond. Some of these topics cover proportionality, equations, inequalities, basic geometry, algebraic expressions, and arithmetic.
I am a certified teacher for grades 4-8 math and have over four years of professional experience teaching math to students ranging from grades 3 to 12. I taught seventh grade math while getting my credentials and taught my first year of seventh grade math at an amazing school. Though I left full-time teaching when I became a mother in 2019, I have continued to pursue my passion for teaching math part-time via various platforms.
My philosophy that drives my teaching is that every student is a unique person who is worthy of my time. I have the patience to work with students who are struggling in math and the ability to push students who are naturally inclined towards math. My goals when working with students are to teach and encourage.
When I'm not teaching/tutoring I can be found snuggling my babies, spending quality time with friends and family, and playing disc golf with my wonderful husband.
