In this class we will discuss how to create a planner that will help students keep track of their time, homework, classes, and any other various tasks that students need to complete throughout their day. Choosing the right planner is the first step in the process, and it can be a difficult decision with all the options available. Together we will look at a few different types of planners and discuss the pros and cons of each one. We will also talk about strategies to make sure that we keep up with the schedule we create so that nothing gets missed. These strategies include: how to color code, how to strategically use stickers, the addition of sticky notes, as well as taking the time to find what works best with the specific students in a class. This class is for both students who already own a planner but aren’t sure how to use it, and for students who are trying to determine what kind of planner may work best for them. The supplies list includes the list for both options.
Learning Goals
Students will leave this class with the skills needed to create and use a planner.

Hello! My name is Miss Izzy and I was definitely born to teach. I have a General Studies degree that covers topics such as teaching and learning, psychology, and humanities. Learning can, and should, be a lot of fun! I am always excited about trying something new, and I love to help others learn new things as well. I, myself, was a very interesting student, and that really helps me to be able to cater to a large variety of learning styles. I am more than happy to accommodate all students to the best of my ability. I believe that learning should be equitable and accessible to every student who has the desire to learn. Let's talk about your learner and how we can work together to meet their needs!
I offer a variety of classes such as Greek Mythology, Beginner Spanish, Reading Tutoring, and School/Life Skills.
I have lived in Guatemala off and on for a little over 9 years, and it taught me so much more about teaching in various ways. I also operate a nonprofit in Guatemala that works in a rural village educating those who do not always have the opportunity to attend school.
Before I started teaching online, I worked for a national literacy non-profit as a Site Coordinator and a tutor. I worked with both elementary students learning to read and helped train the volunteers that came in to tutor them.
I have 2 delightful dogs who love to snuggle with, Sammie and Odyss, and I really am so excited to be your teacher!
