In this one-time art class, students will learn how to draw the human face using average proportions.
Class experience
In this basic drawing class, we will demonstrate and practice drawing the human face in a fun and engaging way. We will learn how to draw a face using an average placement of features. The proportions we will use are that of a teenage or adult face. Of course, every person has unique features that don't fit within this structure, so we will also show how to adjust the scale when drawing a specific person. I have always enjoyed art. I spent my high school years in the art classroom as much as my school would allow. In college, I studied Studio Art, learning from the best. For more than a decade, I have been teaching children and teens on a weekly basis, and I love every moment of it.
Supplies: Students will only need a graphite pencil (preferably a sharpened wooden pencil, not a mechanical pencil), an eraser, and 3-5 sheets of white paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
