How to Draw Spring Art for Beginners May 2022 FLEX
In this five week pen and ink course, we will use various pen and ink shading techniques to draw seasonal subject matter, play interactive games, maintain educational discussions and learn fun scientific facts about what we draw.

There are NO live meetings for this class. The material will be posted weekly and you can view it during the week at your convenience. Each week for 5 weeks students will be guided through a variety of exercises to help expand their knowledge of what we draw and get ample amount of time to practice their drawing and shading techniques with videos and presentations that have been pre-recorded. Students will learn fun scientific facts about the animal they draw, each class will focus on how to create three dimensional space while drawing in pen and ink. This class is also meant to help build a beginning artist's confidence in creating realistic pieces while using different shading techniques.
I have gone to school for art education and have obtained my teaching degree via Grand Valley State University and have been certified for art education for grades young five through twelfth grade. I specialize in integrating general curriculum subject matter such as art, English, science, social studies and history into my lesson plans to ensure homeschool population gets ample opportunity to meet minimum state standards while learning how to draw and having fun.
Students will be expected to draw their own piece independently at home using the step by step tutorial posted within the classroom. This should take approximately an hour. The introductory interactive presentation itself should only take 10 minutes.

Each class will feature an informational YouTube video about the subject matter we will draw. No accounts are needed to participate. Using Nearpod, we will be playing interactive games based on the YouTube video that was reviewed.
