Does your child want to draw characters from their favorite games like Rainbow Friends and Garten of Banban, but has trouble making theirs look like the actual characters? Do the Youtube videos or other tutorials go too fast? Or are you tired of those videos because your child doesn't get personalized, helpful feedback on their art? Do you want your child to actually understand HOW and WHY a character is designed the way they are, so that your child also develops their drawing skills and conceptual understanding of character design? If so, then join this class where I take you step by step through the drawing of a new character from either Rainbow Friends or Garten of Banban every week. Each session your child will leave class with a beautifully designed and colored cartoon character. I teach how to use basic lines and shapes to "construct" a character from the ground up, just like the pros do. This leads to an essential understanding of character design, line, shape, and form. This equips your child to not just draw the characters they love like Opila Bird but also create their own unique characters. The schedule is below, subject to change: Week 1: Blue Rainbow Friend Week 2: Banban Week 3: Red Rainbow Friend Week 4: Stinger Flynn Week 5: Green Rainbow Friend Week 6: Opila Bird Week 7: Orange Rainbow Friend Week 8: Banbaleena Week 9: Yellow Rainbow Friend Week 10: Queen Bouncelia Week 11: Cyan Master Rainbow Friend Week 12: Captain Fiddles Week 13: Purple Friend Week 14: The Jester The only materials your child needs are: pencil eraser paper coloring utensils

🎬 MAGGIE WEHLER, PROFESSIONAL ANIMATOR AND ILLUSTRATOR: Maggie Wehler is a freelance animator and illustrator who has worked on a multitude of indie video games and indie animation projects! As she loved video games and cartoons as a child, she began drawing digitally in middle school and hasn’t stopped since! Taking that passion, she took online classes through the Academy of Art University in highschool and then pursued a degree in Film & Animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she also completed a minor in Game Design. After college, Maggie attended the Disney College Program and worked at the Walt Disney World Parks in Florida while attending seminar classes with Disney artists and designers! She also makes freelance animated videos for the Youtube channel Psych2Go, which has over 11 million subscribers! Maggie firmly believes that everyone deserves to have a space to create, all art forms are valid, and any art fundamentals can be learned through drawing characters you love to draw! Other than drawing, Maggie enjoys playing video games like Splatoon and Monster Hunter, along with watching movies, anime and reading graphic novels.
💪 KAITLYN SYDELLE, ANIME COMIC ARTIST 💪: With a B.F.A. in Graphic Design with an emphasis in Illustration from CSU Fresno, I am an experienced, award winning comic artist with several self-published titles. I have been professionally teaching comics and anime themed classes to artists of all ages since 2013, from 1-on-1 elementary sessions to college-level classrooms. I’m very passionate about everyone experiencing the confident joy of putting your ideas onto paper, and feeling your world come to life. I believe there is no such thing as a “bad” art style, and that anyone can draw given the chance. In my classes, I help guide students to develop the styles they would enjoy practicing, honing their own signature style, or having space to try a new technique! Some of my favorite hobbies outside of art are studying foreign languages and martial arts to keep my brain and body active.
