Description

Class Experience

In this class, I will teach students how to use simple shapes and basic drawing skills to draw Popeye the Sailor and characters from the Popeye world, as well as other classic cartoon characters (Beetle Bailey, Peanuts, Flintstones, for example). I will teach by demonstration as students draw along with me. Students will be given a chance to show what they've drawn throughout the sessions (to boost their self esteem and so I can help with any drawing issues).

Students will learn how to draw using simple shapes and lines to create cartoon characters! They will see the similarities between different cartoon characters and build on that. 
Students will also learn that many cartoons are inspired by the creator's own life and/or experiences!
