Each class will begin with a 15 minute warmup sketch. Then we will do a simple step by step drawing with thorough explanation together to introduce some simple drawing techniques including 1st week - How to break down complicated characters into simple geometric shapes 2nd week - How to build archetypal characters based on varying base shapes 3rd Week - How to use overlapping shapes to create the illusion of life 4th week - Rendering shading and values 5th week - Drawing forms in 3D space...
Students are not required to do homework, but hopefully they will be inspired to continue drawing long after classes end.
Students will need - pencil, - computer paper or sketch paper, and - erasers. For those that like to color it would be good to have - a set of watercolors and - some watercolor paper.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
All learning materials will be provided through slideshows.
