Nearly everyone can who can hold a pencil can learn to draw well... with lots of practice and good instruction! If you are willing to try something new and learn to "see" in a new way, your drawing abilities will improve. ⭐New to Outschool? Message me before you enroll!!!⭐ This is a 4-day drawing summer camp for students who are interested in drawing realistically, know how to use a ruler, and may have joined me for a previous drawing class. In this class, students will learn to "see" as an artist, focusing on positive and negative space, details, values, and textures that others may never notice. Some of the exercises in this class are based upon Betty Edward's book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain;" these methods have served me well in teaching others to draw realistically for nearly 20 years. Students who join this class will learn techniques for how to accurately draw from illustrations and photos. I will provide a drawing and photo to draw from in class, but students may draw from their own drawing (Day 1) or photo (Day 2-4), but must have it ready and printed at the beginning of class. Drawing materials to bring to ALL classes: Students may draw from their own drawing (Day 1) or photo (Day 2-4), but must have it ready and PRINTED at the beginning of class. Paper Pencil Eraser Ruler Optional: Colored pencil, Chalk pastel, Oil pastel, Charcoal for big work Illustrations or photos may be provided to draw; students will have the option to provide their own.
