Class Experience

Have you ever wanted to draw Charlie Brown and Snoopy? These are two of the most famous characters in the classic "Peanuts" comic strip by Charles M. Shulz. In this class, we will watch a 6-8 minute video based on the "Peanuts" comics that's sure to make us laugh! Then we will draw and color a picture of Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
Of course, throughout the class we will have lively discussion, and I will be drawing right along with my students, instructing step by step. Also, if your learner loves this class (which is very likely) I have a weekly course on drawing even more characters from the "Peanuts" comics!

This class is both educational and lots of fun!

(The materials and characters used in this class are used for educational purposes and this class has no relationship with the owners of the “Peanuts” comics and the trademarked characters within it.)

I am a professional artist, specializing in oil portrait paintings, and I have had the privilege of displaying my artwork in venues across the country. I believe that art is about self expression and learning, and I hope to create a fun, interactive environment where students can develop a love for art while building their confidence in a new skill.
I have always struggled with expecting “perfection” of myself, especially in my art, so I am constantly reminding my students, as well as myself, that perfection is not required, and that practice, not unreasonable expectations, is what a advances our skills.
My joy in teaching comes from the comments of my students and their parents, expressing that they created something they didn’t know was possible.
