Class Experience

If you are hungry and like to draw then you will love this class!

What will be taught? I will teach learners how to draw a burger, fries and drink.

What topics will you cover?
We will discuss what we like on our burgers, where we like to eat, and how to draw and color a burger with fries and a drink.

How is your class structured? •Introduction
•Prior knowledge
•Guided instruction
•Reflection

How will you teach?
I will use a power point with pre-drawn images and I will also draw with the student in an “I do, we do, you do” format.

What's your teaching style? I like to engage the learners with their experiences and use props and images to help guide instruction.

How much will learners get to interact? We will have a class discussion about what kind of food they like, what colors to use and students will have the opportunity to show off their work.

Any required experience or knowledge learners need? No prior knowledge required.

I can’t wait to start drawing and get creative! Actual burger and fries are optional. :)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I’m Olivia and I love to teach! I have a Bachelors degree in elementary education and I love to teach subjects like math, English, and science, and history in an artsy way. I’m a former 5th grade teacher and current stay at home mom and ESL teacher to kids in China. I have also held leadership positions with several years of experience being a Sunday school teacher for the youth in my church.

As a kid I was shy, anxious, and afraid to make mistakes so I am grateful for my teachers who helped me to grow and learn despite my challenges. I’ve always wanted to be the kind of teacher who cares about the individual and mindful of how each child learns. I think learning should be fun and engaging. As a teacher it is my job to make the student feel safe and willing to make mistakes because that is how we learn and grow!

When I am not teaching I am taking care of my 2 children or spending time with my husband. I’m dreaming of my next Disneyland trip and vacation to California. I aspire to be a better cook and I love to run.

I cannot wait to get to know you and teach you something new!
