This process involves observing, following instructions, and creating until each student is happy with the outcome. Students will learn basic drawing and watercolor painting techniques and apply these techniques to complete this project. This Gingerbread Man art class is designed to give beginner artists the skills they need to jump-start their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking. Supplies and materials needed for this class: +watercolor paper +set of watercolor paints +paint brush +black oil pastel or crayon +cup of water +paper towel Steps to complete this project: Step 1: Draw a Gingerbread Man Design Step 2: Paint the Design Step 3: Paint the Background Time needed for students to complete this project is approximately 30 minutes. This is a self-paced video class where students may proceed through the art lesson at their own pace. Video may be paused at any time. There will be no live meetings, however, I will be available for questions and gentle encouragement. It is important to me that your learner's experience is a positive one. My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, joyful, and fun. I encourage students to add their own details to their masterpiece to make it their own. Drawing and Watercolor Painting a Gingerbread Man
In this drawing and watercolor painting class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. We will review composition and placement of shapes and lines on our sheet of paper. With oil pastels or crayons, we will then combine shapes and lines to create a Gingerbread Man. Once our drawing is complete, we will begin painting our design. We will discuss the application of watercolor paints, how to change the value of a paint color, and how to create the look of texture. 11 mins of video lessons
