Welcome to How to Draw: Amazing Animals, a self-paced video course designed to introduce young learners to the basics of drawing animals. Throughout the course, learners will explore drawing fundamental concepts like form, texture, proportion, and value to create vibrant and lifelike animal drawings. They’ll complete in-class drawings of an elephant, cat, bunny, and giraffe, building a collection they can add to their portfolio. Learners will also gain transferable techniques that can be applied to drawing a wide range of animals. Learning Goals
Learn Basic Drawing Fundamentals Concepts and Techniques:

Elephant Expedition - Learning Form
In this session, young artists will learn how to break down animal bodies into simple shapes and understand the concept of form. They will create a finished drawing of an elephant, practicing how to see shapes and use them to enhance their drawings.

Cool Cat - Learning Value
In this session, learners will explore the concept of value by creating a mosaic-style drawing of a cat. They will learn to identify and apply different shades of light and dark to give their drawings depth and dimension.

Lesson 3:
Animal Mashup - Learning Texture
This week, learners will experiment with texture. They will practice drawing different types of textures and apply these skills to create an imaginative animal mashup, combining various textures from different animals.

In the final week, learners will focus on proportions by drawing a rainbow giraffe. They will learn to identify and implement correct proportions in their drawings to make their animals look realistic and well-balanced.
