Want to develop your action poses for your drawings and comics?

Want to learn new anime techniques, grow in confidence, and make action-packed art that you're proud of?

Then join this weekly anime art class, where I teach you to draw new action poses every single week.

We'll cover everything from punching to climbing to swinging a bat or weapon. Drop in any week or stay for multiple--you'll learn a new pose and new techniques every single week, as well as come away with some awesome art.

Both beginners and advanced artists alike are welcome!

Students will learn not only the proportions and movements of the human figure and musculature, but how to pose characters caught in a moment of action packed movement.

The human figure is complex, but while we refine the shapes and groups of muscles, I aim to shrink the intimidation of drawing fight sequences. By the time you complete the course, they will have become more than competent with creating action poses from memory with little reference.

You'll even use what you learn to start developing your own amazing action-packed scenes perfect for your own characters and comics.

This class is continuous and does not necessarily follow a start and end topic rhythm. New learners are welcome to join at any point. Many learners join and stay for 20, 30, 40 weeks or more! Lessons are always evolving with the class, and rather than specific lessons delivered the same way again, the lessons are adapted to create an experience of growth for as long as a learner should stay - even a full year or more!
Here are examples of lesson topics that you may find in this class:

Hands
Punching
Feet/Legs
Kicking
Running
Head angles
Throwing
Falling/ Jumping
Sword fighting/swinging
Perspective bodies in action
Sitting poses
Relaxed standing poses

(Classes are often changed to best support the needs and interests of enrolled learners, so please message to be sure)

💪 KAITLYN SYDELLE, ANIME COMIC ARTIST: With a B.F.A. in Graphic Design with an emphasis in Illustration from CSU Fresno, I am an experienced, award winning comic artist with several self-published titles. I have been professionally teaching comics and anime themed classes to artists of all ages since 2013, from 1-on-1 elementary sessions to college-level classrooms. I’m very passionate about everyone experiencing the confident joy of putting your ideas onto paper, and feeling your world come to life. I believe there is no such thing as a “bad” art style, and that anyone can draw given the chance. In my classes, I help guide students to develop the styles they would enjoy practicing, honing their own signature style, or having space to try a new technique! Some of my favorite hobbies outside of art are studying foreign languages and martial arts to keep my brain and body active.

🎬 MAGGIE WEHLER, PROFESSIONAL ANIMATOR AND ILLUSTRATOR: Maggie Wehler is a freelance animator and illustrator who has worked on a multitude of indie video games and indie animation projects! As she loved video games and cartoons as a child, she began drawing digitally in middle school and hasn’t stopped since! Taking that passion, she took online classes through the Academy of Art University in highschool and then pursued a degree in Film & Animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she also completed a minor in Game Design. After college, Maggie attended the Disney College Program and worked at the Walt Disney World Parks in Florida while attending seminar classes with Disney artists and designers! She also makes freelance animated videos for the Youtube channel Psych2Go, which has over 11 million subscribers! Maggie firmly believes that everyone deserves to have a space to create, all art forms are valid, and any art fundamentals can be learned through drawing characters you love to draw! Other than drawing, Maggie enjoys playing video games like Splatoon and Monster Hunter, along with watching movies, anime and reading graphic novels.
