Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm a professional artist, photographer, and author from East Texas. I love to connect art with everything else in life—math, science, history, and language arts.

To date I have had the privilege of teaching over 2,100 students over the past three years teaching on Outschool.

I've been homeschooling for 19 years and have taught children's art classes privately and through local afterschool programs. I substitute teach several days a week for two local K-12 public school districts locally. My art lessons and photography have been internationally published on blogs and magazines. I have also written and illustrated several children's books and a book on photography techniques.

As a 20 year home educator with an eclectic view on teaching methods (including classical education, the trivium, Charlotte Mason, the Socratic Method, unschooling, and child-directed learning), I see the power of making connections in everything we do. Art happens to be my favorite tool to use when guiding students in making connections as well.

Please allow up to 24 hours for responses to messages and inquires. I try to respond to all messages as soon as possible. The glitches of technology and life do happen though and sometimes cause delays in my response time.

Most classes with only one learner enrolled will still proceed, though may not run as long as the time indicated. Bookclubs are generally designed to have two or more students however and these types of classes will not run unless the minimum enrollment is met. In this case, the class beginning will be delayed up to 3 weeks. If class is cancelled due to low enrollment, a refund will be issued.

If no learners have signed in by the ten minute class mark, instructor will exit class and provide a video lesson for students to complete on their own. No refunds will be issued in this case scenario.
