Class Experience
This class teaches how to draw a realistic human face. It goes over many of the basic guidelines and proportions used to draw a a persons face. The class is taught through a prerecorded video that takes learners through the process step by step and allows them to learn at their own pace. The class is taught by my close and personal friend Bob the Bird who guides children step by step through the process of drawing a face. The class begins with a few examples of faces and their features. The lesson features a series of graphic overlays explaining the proportions and positions. Then students get to the opportunity to see the step sketched out in real-time and can follow along on their own paper. The pace is relaxed but children are encouraged to go at their own pace and pause, rewind, and take as much time as they need. The video is approximately 30 minutes in length but I recommend setting aside around 1 hour to complete the class. Children can ask questions at anytime through the classroom. Make sure to upload your finished drawings to the classroom so we can see your AMAZING progress! This is a flex class. The classroom and video are available for one week after class starts. Children may rewatch the video as many times as desired during that time.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Brian and I am an artist and illustrator from Los Angeles, California. I am a classically trained in fine art and animation. In addition to making art I really enjoy teaching youth and helping them to develop their own unique form of creativity.
I have a number of years teaching and working with youth in various after school programs. I truly believe to that learning should be fun and I strive to provide an environment that is enriching, safe, and creatively nurturing. Students will be encouraged to express themselves artistically and to add their own imagination to the lessons.
Currently, I offer daily and weekly, cartooning courses. These are ongoing classes and the lessons evolve as course progresses, so children that wish to repeat the class will have new material to work from. These are entry level classes designed for anyone with an interest in drawing. All skill levels are welcome. Classes are non-competitive and each student is encouraged to do their own personal best. I believe that students can learn a lot from drawing with each other. In these classes students will have the opportunity to learn from myself but also each other as well.
In addition, I will be offering limited one time classes. This is a good way to test out the course and see if your child would be interested in one of the longer classes. These classes are also a option for tutoring if your child has specific drawing goals. If your child has special needs please reach out and let me know before the first class so I can make any necessary adjustments.
