In this ongoing course, students will learn Adobe Illustrator from the ground up and the extensive drop downs menus and tools the program has to offer. We will cover a majority of what the program can do. Every week at the beginning of each class, we'll learn new vocab words, look at a designer's work and discuss it. Then, we'll focus one or more features in the program and how to use them. Each lesson will build on the previous week, so it's really important that the student doesn't...
Students will be expected to spend the following week after each class and practice using the software based only on what we covered in class. One hour a week is not sufficient. Please plan to spend at least an hour a day practicing, and write down any questions and message me with them so I can help along the way. If it works better for the student to spend 3 hours at a time over the week, that's fine. I need them to feel comfortable in the program and not lost. For homework projects, they will be completely individually with a one week deadline. Work must be submitted to me 24 hours prior to class so I can make sure they're are ready for class discussion during the art critique lessons.
