Applying for a summer job? Looking for internships? Employers are looking for a professional resume that stands out from a pile of applications. Score the interview and the job with a great resume! Getting out of the house and gaining solid work experience begins with a great resume.The teacher will give a short slideshow presentation to cover the elements of a great resume, as well as what not to put on a resume. Real examples of great and not so great resumes will be shown. Did you know it's not all Times New Roman text and bullet points? The teacher will open the class by asking the students which careers they are interested in or what type of jobs they might apply for this summer, and then help them develop a sample resume based on the demands of each particular career. By the end of this class, students will be prepared to create a great resume of their own to use right now to apply for a job. There is no previous knowledge needed to participate in this class.

Students will build a professional, attractive resume that is ready to be turned into employers right away.

Supply List
Students should have access to some form of a word processing software such as Google Docs or Microsoft Word. A resume reference guide will be given to the class before exit.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
