In this one-time course, students will learn strategies to help cope with test anxiety. We will discuss both general and subject-specific strategies. Students will be offered strategies that are specific to their individual needs.

Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their understanding of what test anxiety is, what causes test anxiety, and how to overcome their test anxiety in high-stress testing situations. 
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization in Kinesiology and am a Teacher Candidate in a Bachelor of Education program (teachables include Physical Education/Health and Science). I have taken courses regarding mental and emotional health in youth and young adults. I understand the importance of creating an understanding of stress at a young age, and to develop strategies early to deal with everyday stressors. I have dealt with test anxiety since high school and wish to help others through their experiences. I am a passionate, young teacher who is still in school and understands what youth face today. I am eager to share my passion for health and wellness! 
No homework will be assigned. Students will be encouraged to put these strategies to practice! 
Curriculum materials will be provided by the teacher. Students do not need to purchase materials for this class. Students will require a few sheets of paper and a writing utensil.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment is utilized. Students will gain feedback on personalized testing strategies, in-class participation, and meaningful discussion. 
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be discussing test anxiety. Students will have the opportunity to share their story/a story. They do not have to do this, it is optional.
