Class Experience
We will be discussing what having a dog involves. We will make a list of everything a dog might need including toys, food, attention, training, medical care and exercise. This discussion based class will have each student discussing the pros and cons of having a pet. We will evaluate together how to gather a list of reasons why a dog is a great addition to any household. Students who already have animals can help add reasons why having a pet has benefited or challenged them personally with...
The students will see what is really involved in owning a dog. They will have a list of material to address with their parents on reasons why the family should get a dog. The student will be able to walk away from class having a clear understanding of the responsibility and commitment involved to be able to show the parents their genuine interest and dedication.
I have owned several dogs, horses, cats, and hamsters throughout my life. I understand how fun they can be! I also understand the commitment the entire family has to make for the pet to thrive in their environment.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
