In this one time course, learners can come bring their favorite dinosaur to class with them. We will start off class by sharing our dinosaur with the other learners in the course. After that, I will share my screen and read the book, "How to Catch a Dinosaur" by Adam Wallace. Questions will be asked throughout the story for engagement amongst the learners. After reading the book, we will all share what ideas we have to catch a dinosaur. Several optional activity sheets will be provided...
Learners will develop their social skills that are so important for young learners to develop at an early age which include sharing without interrupting, listening to a story and engaging in discussion appropriately, and use their critical thinking skills to develop a plan.
Activity sheets will be provided upon enrollment for extension activities.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
