30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Does your child want to start a youtube channel, but doesn’t know where to start? In this one-time class, students will learn how to start a youtube channel and brainstorm ideas with peers. As a person who loves to create videos on Youtube, I can provide plenty of useful tips based on experiences when starting a Youtube channel. Throughout the whole class, I often remind students to have their parent or guardian help them throughout the process of creating a Youtube channel and have the parent/guardian monitor their Youtube channel. I also remind students to ask their parent(s) or guardian permission before doing anything on the internet. TOPICS DURING CLASS: - Greet / Check-in / Go over class rules - Starting a channel + Some Privacy Setting (Adjusting / Disabling Comment Section) - Introduce Canva to customize channel - Quickly Discuss How to Start Getting Paid on Youtube - Discuss Possible Future Video Content Ideas Towards the end of class, students will be able to download a Youtube Guide into their device to help with setting up their Youtube channel. Youtube guides will be posted after class on the classroom page. THIS IS STRICTLY FOR BEGINNERS: I will not discuss the marketing and promoting tips to help grow a Youtube channel. However, I do have a different class that will teach students how to grow and market their Youtube channel. If your child is interested, the class is called "How to Grow Your Youtube Channel." Creating social media platforms such as Youtube must be 13 years and older. This class is for students ages 9 to 12, which is important that parents are aware of their student's social media usage. If students consider creating a Youtube channel, parents must be by their child for guidance. Officially, YouTube forbids children under the age of 13 to create their own accounts, and children between ages 13 and 17 are only allowed to open accounts with parental permission. Parents are allowed to create their children a Youtube channel. It is important that parents monitor and help their children when creating a Youtube channel. THIS IS A 30 MIN CLASS. I WILL DISCUSS THE STEPS ON HOW TO CREATE A CHANNEL, BUT I WILL NOT PROVIDE A TUTORIAL ON SETTING A YOUTUBE CHANNEL UP. I PROVIDE A YOUTUBE GUIDE AT THE END OF CLASS TO HELP STUDENTS AND THEIR GROWN UP SET UP A YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

One of my favorite hobbies is making videos on Youtube. I started my first youtube channel when I was in middle school and I recently fell in love with creating videos again. I can definitely relate to students wanting to become a Youtuber, which is why I have classes relating to Youtube.
